RITE OF PASSAGE: A MASSIVE REBELLION
Dear Maiden, Mother & Crone,
There is a Massive Rebellion happening and it defies the superficial and isolating habits that social media, cultural messaging, hurtful peer relations, and the inner sabotage we can all find ourselves in as we navigate life. This rebellion is a conscious collective expansion to take responsibility of our own experiences by knowing thyself and thus our world. This Rebellion is an inner and outer adventure that enlivens and builds from one’s True Essence and Spiritual Worth. This Rebellion helps us to look beyond that which we see, so that we can feel and bring informed choice and inspired action from a space of pure awareness.
THE FRAGMENTATION OF SOCIAL INITIATION
Do you remember all the cultural messages, social conditioning, inner curiosities and urges, as well as the inner self talk of being a teen; the wild and confusing initiations of becoming a High School maiden? I do, and so do the women, men and teens that I have worked with throughout my life in various capacities whom have shared their entire life stories with me, and how these stories have impacted and followed them throughout their lives.
While we cannot change our soul’s karmic ripples, we can learn to relate to them in a different and empowered way. I know that if I’d experienced a Rites of Passage as a young maiden held by seasoned elders, like that of what I experienced as a young mother, I would have made different choices and taken empowered action. I would have had a grounded perspective of the laws of the universe and my particular role and responsibility in the theatre of life. Thus, I would have been far more equipped and empowered to speak and act from a space of expanded and embodied awareness, led by keen insight, fierce compassion, embodied confidence and wisdom, rather than being sucked into a rabbit hole of doubt, confusion and fragmentation. I would have chose a different way of relating, interacting and reacting to the confusing and isolating initiations that modernity and life’s flow of unique soul story naturally brings.
THE MISALIGNED REBEL HEART
As mothers’ we all wish for our daughters to know themself, to have healthy peer relations, positive body image and mind talk. To stand up for what they truly believe, and to explore and exert their Creator given talent and magic with confidence and compassion during a developmental age in which peer pressure and one’s own doubting mind and inner sabatour can push one to assimilate or isolate and be silent, rather than reaching for help in times that feel confusing and misaligned with our truth. The rebel heart dressed with a silent and unbalanced mindset can steer us from our own true origins, where the voice of reason can be faintly heard.
It is human nature to push back against all we know at some point in one’s life, this can be a noticeable display or rather quiet and unseen. If one’s defiance does not take place in adolescents, it can often happen during our young and late adulthood. It’s a way of going against the grain to find our strength, courage and in a rudimentary way, one’s gifts. Sadly, it is common that most rebel in a way that damages and fragments oneself and others, and this can happen in a myriad of ways that Cultural & Societal Norms depict and condone. But, what if it doesn’t have to be that way?
THE ALIGNED & LUMINOUS REBEL HEART
The exciting news is that we are at a precipice in time where we can now give our daughters (and ourselves) a way to explore the aligned and luminous Rebel Heart that defies the superficial, isolating, self sabotaging habits created in adolescents and throughout our life. This massive rebellion is an Ancient but New fashion that allows us to express our adventurous soul in a way that does not damage our pure heart, but informs us to the importance of making wise and empowered choices that honors our Sacred being and everything around seen and unseen. This Massive Rebellion enlivens and builds from one’s True Essence and Spiritual Worth, where we look beyond what we can see, so that we can embody our entire experience and bring informed choice and inspired action from a space of pure awareness and acceptance.
UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCES
The amazing and other worldly experiences of my own Rites of Passage, and those that I’ve assisted and guided have forever been branded upon my heart. My experiences continue to remind me that things are not as they seem.
I’ll never forget as I walked across the fire, how my mind is often telling me things that are not true, and that if I can walk across hot coals and not feel it, then I am far more powerful than I’ve been told and can even fathom.
I’ll also never forget when I was praying out in gratitude to everything seen and unseen during my first Vision Quest, a humming bird appeared out of nowhere 3 inches in front of my face, suspended in time, right as I said, “Thank you Birds!”. I could see every color of her beautiful jewel toned feathered fashion. She heard my prayer and wanted me to know that she is one with me and everything, and that the Spirit that lives in all things can feel, sense and hear us.
While there are countless experiences of "I'll never forget", they are moments that have created a desire to know and embrace the totality of our inherent being of love, truth and magic.
Yes of course, life challenges will always be apart of human life, but when we have unforgettable experiences such as the ones you have in a Rite of Passage, they are a continual reminder of our inner beauty and the supportive network and potential that exist in the universe. You know what it feels like to be held in an infinite circle of loving reciprocal relationship, and thus we are able to reframe our outer experience in relation to our inner experiences, into an expanded awareness in which we feel supported and renewed, with an ever burning desire to know and give all of ourselves to that which created us, to the Sacredness of Life.
